There have been many stories in the news these days about the development of driverless cars and experiments with them on the roads. There are many states that are showing interest in this amazing vehicle invention. And for that reason, certain laws have been passed by different states to regulate these cars on the roads.

Since 2012, there have been debates about legislation for driverless cars in almost 17 states and also in District of Columbia. However, only Nevada, Florida, Washington, D.C and California have ratified driverless car laws. The driverless car laws in these states have allowed the automated vehicle on the roads.

Under the laws of D.C and Florida, manufacturers of Driverless cars would get less of the liability for this invention if there is an accident occurred due to these cars. The laws that are enacted in Nevada, Florida, and California have also anticipated the driverless cars without humans at the front to control. These laws also say that the person who is the inventor of this technology should be on the operator seat of these driverless cars.

Apart from the safety issues from this driverless car invention, the laws also have the concerns regarding privacy. The law for automated cars in California requires that this invention collects the information like GPS, time and destinations while the automated vehicle is in use. This data collected could of hep to the investigators when they are looking into a criminal’s record but at the same time, it may be an intruder in someone else’s privacy. The law for driverless cars in Nevada requires these cars to have an authorized license whether it has the nature of experimental technology.

Besides these laws, if we talk about the driverless cars attorneys, they are literally salivating right now. Why? Because of the potential paydays, they’re going to get from the driverless cars. What the driverless cars attorneys are going to get is a host of new defendants in the name of these automated cars.

Just like the internet, the technology revolution will decide for itself that what laws by different states this invention of driverless cars would cope with. Google and other manufacturers of these driverless cars have envisioned this world and the future world to have this invention as a norm. The vision would give the idea to the public that driving an automated car is safer than flying. Now that this invention is given importance and coverage by the media and government laws, driverless cars would become the mainstream in the next few upcoming years. Driverless car laws are compulsory to obey by the manufacturers of this invention, and if not certain action would be taken against these manufacturers and as a result driverless cars attorney would get a fertile land for themselves.
